After a 24 year long career in IBM-with the last eight years as CEO of IBM Indonesia- Betti Alisjahbana would often be invited by various organizations to facilitate trainings and to share her experience in regards to pursuing successful career, management and leadership. It was from that experience that it became apparent, one of the main shortcomings that Indonesia is dealing with right now is in leadership.

METHODOLOGY

QB Leadership Center’s approach is to “Learn Leadership from the Leaders”, which includes learning from best practices, to draw inspiration and most importantly learning from the experience of accomplished leaders. We believe that leadership can only be truly developed from within ourselves, stimulated by inspirations around us, learned by examples and is put to the test in our everyday practice. The training and various activities facilitated by QB Leadership Center are provided by competent leaders with a good track record and has demonstrated strong integrity in their respective fields.

LEADERSHIP SERIES

Our Leadership Series facilitates the gathering of future leaders, be it from companies and organizations from the private sector or government institutions, to meet and learn with accomplished, high-profile leaders that they might know and draw inspiration from. This event takes place in a seminar/talk show format in partnership with majalah Warta Ekonomi.

WORKSHOP BECOMING AN EFFECTIVE LEADER & MANAGER BY BETTI ALISJAHBANA

The Becoming an Effective Leader & Manager workshop by Betti Alisjahbana is largely driven by the many feedbacks from fellow CEO’s on how often promising professionals would fail to transform into an effective manager in their respective workplaces. The goal of this 2 day training session is to help prepare managers for a smooth transition from strictly being a professional to be an effective leader to a team.

To this day, the Becoming an Effective Leader & Manager workshop has been conducted over 50 times (both for Public and Inhouse) and over 800 managers from various fields, companies and organizations has taken part in the course.

Leadership for New managers has now changed its name to Becoming An Effective Leader and Managers.

Beti Alisjahbana is one of the select few leaders that has committed time and effort in sharing knowledge and experience on leadership to the next generation of leaders. She solidified that commitment by founding QB Leadership Center in 2010. Despite her activities and involvement in various companies, government institutions and organizations; she still allocates time to facilitate leadership workshops, mentoring and provide consultation services.

A graduate of Architecture major in ITB, Betti started her long career in IBM from 1984 as a management trainee. Throughout the years she held numerous leadership positions-in Indonesia as well as in ASEAN region-all the way to the highest position as CEO of IBM Indonesia between 2000-2008. Betti Alisjahbana is the first woman in the Asia Pacific region to hold the position of Country General Manager.

Throughout her career in IBM, Betti took part in many management and leadership trainings and workshops; among them in the United States, Japan and Australia. She has also received a number of important achievement awards such as Country General Manager Excellence Award IBM 2000 as well as Leadership Honour Roll IBM 2003. In the year 2007, Globe Asia Magazine included her in the list of 99 most influential women in Indonesia.

After 24 year career in IBM, she decided to start her own business. In 2008, Betti founded PT Quantum Business International, a company that operates in property (QB Townhouse), furniture (QB Furniture) and information technology sector (QB IT Services). This company would then venture into the field of leadership training (QB Leadership Center) and the creative industry (QB Youth).

The wealth of experience she acquired in business and information technology brought Betti to a number of advisory positions, in public sector, private sector and social.

Throughout her career in IBM, Betti was known to place a strong emphasis on Good Corporate Governance and Good Corporate Citizen. Since 2004, IBM Indonesia has received the Obedient Taxpayer Award every year. In addition to that, Betti was the Chairman of the Jury for the Bung Hatta Anti Corruption Award, which was held in 2003, 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2013.

In the year 2013, Bettu received 3 awards: Satyalancana Wira Karya from the President of Indonesia, Ganesa Wira Adi Utama from the Institute Teknologi Bandung, dan Indi Women Award “Kartini 2.0” from PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk.
